Donate for YFU USA cause

As the year comes to a close and many of us are gathering with family and friends to celebrate the holidays, we at YFU USA want to express our gratitude to our generous donors and supporters. Currently, we have two active giving campaigns in place. In Mid-November we launched our Direct Mail Campaign for the fiscal year. Our first set mailers were sent out to current & lapsed donors and alumni who were given the opportunity to make their first gift. We are just a month in and we have received more than half of our (net) goal for the first mailing and are optimistic that we will surpass the desired amount when the mailing wraps up. This is a three part campaign and the second and third mailings will conclude before 1 July 2022. Each mailing has a specific audience and goal. The funds raised through this campaign benefit Operations unless otherwise noted by the donor.
The second campaign that is taking place is our Giving Tuesday Campaign. On November 30, 2021, we united for a worldwide celebration of generosity. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together through generosity in all its forms by sharing acts of kindness and giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes.
Youth For Understanding USA raised funds for our Passport to Equity Scholarship on this very special day! We are pleased to announce that YFU USA was able to award this scholarship for the very first time for the current school year and thanks to our generous donors, we can do it again. The YFU USA Board of Trustees generously kicked off this campaign with gifts from their personal funds. We had an individual donor match the Board’s gift in support of this new, needs-based scholarship for African-American students. Additionally, we received just over $2,000 in donations from individual givers on Giving Tuesday. We are excited to be able to award this scholarship again for the 2022-2023 school year. If you would like to give to this scholarship, we are still accepting donations here: Passport to Equity.
We are thankful to be able to give our young people the opportunity to learn about our brothers and sisters across the world as they teach about American customs and culture. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to see that we are much more alike than we are different. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of everyone that our students touch as the gift of exchange will surely cause a ripple effect. The support of our donors and our partners goes unmatched.
